Hi!

So I am trying to install ISO coated v2 eci on a mac os high sierra.

I have copied it into:

- /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color Profiles

- /Library/ColorSync/Profiles

But when I go to Color Sync or try to change my settings directly from illustrator, the ICC profile isn't available.

I have already changed my permission settings from

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203538

But the issue persists, I really don't know what to do, please help!!!

    Correct answer NB, colourmanagement

    Hi maria,

well done getting it to work

just because some future users will refer back to this list I'd better write that, strictly speaking, your answer is only partly correct, because the:

    'computer name'/'hard disc name'/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Recommended

isn't the only place Photoshop will "see" installed ICC profiles. But it is for Illustrator unless you click "more options" - see Rob-Day's informative post in this thread for more info on that.

On OSX there are quite a few ICC profile folders, here's a list:

    Profiles the Mac OS requires:

    /System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles

Profiles available to all logged in users and all [colour management savvy] applications

    /Library/ColorSync/Profiles

Profiles limited to an individual logged in user

    /Users/username/Library/ColorSync/Profiles

Profiles that are listed only in Adobe applications:

    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles

Profiles that are listed in the upper section of the profile lists in Adobe applications:

    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Recommended

Abstract Profiles available in Photoshop for Color Lookup layers

    https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/photoshop/how-to/edit-photo-color-lookup-adjustment.html ]:

    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color Profiles

Also, a printer manufacturer's driver software will often install their own ICC media profiles in the Library/Printers folder, but these are not usually available outside of the OSX 'Print' dialog unless you copy them into one of the ColorSync/Profiles folders above.

    e.g. mine are here:

    /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/ICCProfiles/Epson Stylus Pro 4900_4910.profiles/Contents/Resources

to get in there you'd need to right (or control) click and select  "show contents"

    I hope this helps

if so, please "like" my reply and if you're OK now, please mark it as "correct", so that others who have similar issues can see the solution

    thanks

Just to clarify, the OP was asking about missing profiles in Illustrator’s Color Settings, which has the extra Less and More Options button. When it is toggled to Less, the profile list is limited to the Adobe Recommended folder. I think Photoshop used to have a Basic/Advanced button that did the same.

    Rob,

thanks lots for that extra clarity,

I must admit I had forgotten about that "more options" button.

In Illustrator there is a More Options button, you have to click it in order to see all of the available system profiles and get the Conversion Options.

    Hi everyone!!!

I did it!!!!! I'm so excited, I finally did it.

So for anyone if anyone ever goes through this same issue, it turns out, the correct location to put the color profile is actually:

    - /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Recommended

NO OTHER LOCATION WILL WORK. At least that was my case. lol. I'm so relieved. I read a lot about this so if anyone ever has a problem like mine maybe I can help you.

    Bye! best wished for everyone!
