A few days ago Eizo's Colornavigator 7 stopped working for some unknown reason.

My system is Win10 pro version 2004 / OS version 19041.685

My graphics card is an Nvidia GTX1060

Primary screen Asus 4K screen

Secondary screen Eizo CX271

This is the error I get from the event log in windows:

Programnavn med feil: ColorNavigator 7.exe, versjon: 7.1.2.7, tidsangivelse: 0x5f88f1e5

Sorry the log entries are in Norwegian. I have tried to find support information on the Eizo webpages, but no such luck.

I have tried the obvious uninstall and then re-install several times. It looks like the problem might be with the libmctrl.dll file, but my google fu arent strong enough to reveal any solution. I hope someone here might be of help.

    Hi Roger,

are you trying to calibrate a non Eizo screen using Eizo's Colornavigator software?

    is it working?

    I hope this helps

I have tried that too yes. However it seems that Colornavigator 7 doesnt support my 4K Asus screen, something the previous version did. It lists the screen in system information in colornavigator, but I do not get a dropdown option for the screen when calibrating.

And I can confirm after several tries that colornavigator 7 fails if my HP Reverb VR headset is connected.

Colornavigator is Eizo software for Eizo monitors. It communicates directly with the monitor's internal processor, and it shouldn't be a surprise that it doesn't work with other brands.

Hi Roger, I think the colornavigator error code diagnosis is a question for Eizo's tech team.

They are very helpful and would know the exact meaning of error messages in their software.

If it's still an issue (or in the meantime) why not take the opportunity to test basICColor display 6,

(free of charge 14 day demo) that software is designed to calibrate & profile both your screen types, not just the hardware calibration Eizo.

It seems it would be vital to calibrate & profile your Asus primary display as well as your Eizo?

Sorry for getting back to this so late, but I recently built a new PC more suitable for my work. The first software I installed was ColorNavigator 7. It started as intended and I thought my problems with the Navigator was over. But a couple of days later it crashed again and refused to start. However, this time I had a more clear idea why it failed to start. I had connected my HP Reverb VR set. This caused the Colornavigator to crash on start. Soon as I disconnected the VR set colornavigator started as normal.

I guess there must have been an USB conflict of some sorts.

I just wanted to follow up on this in case others have experienced similar problems.
