Installed ICC-Profiles are not available in Adobe CC 2020

Hello community,

I have some troubles regarding new ICC profiles under Mac OS 10.15.3.

I have installed them in all these destinations:

  • /Library/ColorSync/Profiles
  • /Users/Username/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
  • /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles
  • /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Recommended

But none of the new profiles is displayed in any Adobe application, not in InDesign, not in Photoshop nor in any other Adobe application. Of course, I rebooted my Mac (several times) and even re-installed some application (e. g. InDesign). The profiles are quite new and are standards for offset printing and gravure printing, so I don't suppose a failure in the profiles themselves.

What am I doing wrong?

Best regards

Ronnie

    Hi Rob,

thanks a lot for your advise! It seems to be a problem with the permission rights. All the profile files in my folders were not accessible via Finder with my user account. So, I deleted all profiles (with admin rights) and copied them again from the original source. Now they are displayed correctly in all applications.

Strange... but it is working again now. 🙂

    Thanks again!

Also, I’m not using Catalina, but I think its permissions are fussier—maybe check the permissions on the profile folders?

Can you open the profiles in Apple’s ColorSync Utility–double-clicking a profile should open it into ColorSync Utility? If so what does the utility show for the profile’s Version, Class, and Space?
