2017 Dreamweaver - Spell Checker not functioning

Lots of great new features, but spell checking does not seem to be working for me in the new Dreamweaver.  Any suggestions?  I'm on an Apple...

Correct answer Jon Fritz

It was happening consistently in a custom workspace while in split code/design with a single page open.

After some Windows updates and a few restarts, it now appears to be functioning correctly.

I am using the latest version of Dreamweaver CC (19.0 Build 11193), and this problem persists. I did some thorough trouble-shooting and I determined that spell-check does not work when Live mode is active--regardless of whether the screen is split or not. When I switch to Design mode, spell-check seems to work, again regardless of screen layout.

This is clearly a BUG. There is no logical reason that spell-check should not work in Live mode; I think the developers need to take a look at this.

It's not a bug.  It's there by design (no pun intended).  Live View doesn't support everything that Design View does.  If you think that needs to be changed, submit a feature request from your Help Menu.

I've been using DW 2015, and I just installed 2017 on a new computer, but I can't get it to spell check at all.  It just switches to split mode and ignores my requests for spell-checking; nothing comes up at all. Everything is totally up to date. What should I do?

have you restarted the computer yet and can you verify you are in Design View?

It doesn't seem to work here either on Windows 7.

@Preran,

1. From Design View, I add in "jashf ksjahd fksjdhf kjshdf kshf skdfj" between the <body> tags
2. I highlight the gibberish text
3. I go to Tools > Spell Check and get an alert "Dreamweaver has finished checking the selection. Do you want to continue checking the rest of the document?"
4. I hit "Yes" and receive the alert "Spelling check completed" with "OK" as the only option.
5. I hit "OK" and the last word of my gibberish is highlighted with no further options/dialogues.
6. Clicking anywhere in the program deselects that last word of gibberish with no further input from the program.

Thank you, Jon for the specifics. I will share this info with the product team.

If it isn't too much of a hassle, can you also report it to the team using the wishlist form Feature Request/Bug Report Form  if you have not already done so?

Thanks,

Preran

Bug Report submitted.

@Nancy, yeah, I get nothing at all. There's never a point where the program asks me what I'd like to use in place of the misspellings. That dialogue never comes up for me.

Can you provide us with the specifics around what you mean by "not working"? Screenshots would help.
