activating dreamweaver only on a computer

I recently got a new computer and moved my creative cloud account to my new computer and had my IT guy to network the old machine to the new machine. Now I have a couple of DW sites on the old machine that I need to move to the new machine. All of the old CC apps including DW are still installed on the old machine.

I discovered that the best way to transfer a site to a new machine is to use the site manager which I cannot use since DW is not activated on the old machine.

Is there a way I can activate DW only on the old machine to make these transfers?

Thanks,

Joe

With Creative Cloud, there is no “activated vs not activated” like there was with the Creative Suite bundles. Now you’re just logged in or not.

An active subscription allows you to be logged into two devices at the same time.

You shouldn’t have any issue being logged into both devices via the CC Desktop App so you can move files and export site settings.

John, I just discovered that. I said to myself, “Self, give it a shot and see what happens.”

    Ain’t life grand.

    Thanks for your help.

You can actually have the programs installed on as many devices as you like. Log out of one, log into the other, and install. You can do that process as much as you want. I’ve installed Photoshop on five or six different machines now

You can also log out remotely, if you want to install on another machine and don’t have physical access to the ones you’re logged into, say while away from the office, on vacation, at a relative’s house, whatevs...

You just log into your account at Adobe.com, click your avatar, choose Manage Account and look under Plans and payment > Activated devices. They give you a big old Deactivate button that logs that machine off so you can add a new one.

    Pretty handy really.
