Activation issue

I have a very old copy of Dreamweaver.  I need to reinstall on my computer.  The activation code was accepted as correct.  However, there was a problem with the internet switched to telephone activation.  When I called the number provided I got a msg. saying that number was no longer valid.  How do I obtain a current phone number for activation?

You don't.  Activation Services for CS4 and earlier products is not possible. The servers don't exist anymore.

You don't say which product and version you have but if it's older than 10 years, you shouldn't be using it anyway.  The Internet, browsers and devices people use have changed too much.  Do yourself a favor and get modern software that understand current web standards.

Read chapters, do code exercises and take quizzes at the end.

This does help, thank you. If I buy a current version of Dreamweaver, will
it be compatible with a website I have built with my current older version?

It should be compatible, assuming the site contains valid HTML and CSS code.  You can validate the code in your current site for more details. See below.

    HTML https://validator.w3.org/

    CSS  https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

If you have a copy of Dreamweaver which is less than CS5 then all the activation servers below that version of creative suite have been switched off l believe, although some stand alone versions, purchased outside of the creative suite package, may still work.

    What is CS5?

    What is CS5?
    By @Andy28056570t3aj

Creative Suite................this usually includes other Adobe programs as part of a package rather than programs which you purchase singularly which are still named CS3, CS4, CS5 etc

The programs which were part of a CS package up to CS5 have had their activation servers switched off, some singular programs purchased outside of a package may still work
