I'm trying to make an update to my website with Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 and every time I try to insert an image, or just type in new text, Dreamweaver crashes. I've tried making updates from 2 different computers (both Mac), and the same thing happens with both of them. Can anyone help me?? Do I need to switch over to the Creative Cloud??

Upgrading to Creative Cloud will give you the latest versions plus free updates & upgrades for as long as you remain a member.

<And if I upgraded to the latest Dreamweaver, would it be compatible with both operating systems? >

Yes.

<And lastly, would a website designed in CS 5.5 be compatible with the latest version of Dreamweaver?>

Yes.  Although you may need to update your code to modern web standards.   A lot has changed since CS5 came out.

Thanks so much for the info! Laptop is running Sierra, and desktop is running Mac OS X El Capitan. Is El Capitan compatible with Dreamweaver CS 5.5? And if I upgraded to the latest Dreamweaver, would it be compatible with both operating systems? And lastly, would a website designed in CS 5.5 be compatible with the latest version of Dreamweaver?

Thanks so much for the help!!

CS5,5 is not officially supported by Mac Sierra.

You could use Brackets to edit your code.  It's much newer than legacy CS5.5 and it works on modern Mac OS.

Brackets - A modern, open source code editor that understands web design.

Did you validate your code and fix reported errors?

Did you try Restoring Preferences?
