My problem that I need help with is that I already have the software (Macromedia Studio 😎 but on disk. My new computer however, does not have a disk reader and when I copied files over using external hard disk to my new computer, I get an error message that says I need to reinstall from the disk. How can I get around this without having to purchase the software program again?

Toss the disks in your recycle bin and move on. This isn't worth pursuing.

CS2 (DW8), CS3, and CS4 are officially dead.  The aged out activation servers are gone.  Even if you manage to install, DW8 can't be activated nor is it of any value to anyone in 2023.  The web has changed too much since 2005.

Below are modern code editors you can use instead— some paid, some free.

CODE EDITORS:
-- Adobe Dreamweaver CC - https://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver.html
-- Codespaces (free, browser-based) - https://github.com/features/codespaces
-- Nova (Mac only, formerly called Coda) - https://nova.app/
-- Pinegrow - https://pinegrow.com/
-- Sublime Text - http://www.sublimetext.com/
-- Visual Studio Code (free) - https://code.visualstudio.com/
-- Wappler ~ Visual Web App Builder - https://wappler.io/

Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, you can't.

Even if your OS allows you to install legacyware from an external drive, the activation servers for all versions below DW CS5 have been decomissioned.

Adobe no longer supports those titles in any way, and no longer offers any legal way to get them up and running.
