I am using Dreamweaver CC Version 21.1 Build 15413

How can I turn off the code tip "shift-drag to retain other column widths. Command click to select cell."?

It is extremely annoying and distracting.

    Tables are rarely used except for spreadsheets.

    Unfortunately, that's just how it works if you're using tables and working in Design View. Any time you hover a cell border, you get the tool tip.

    Your choices are pretty much limited to switching to the Live View Editor (click the table to get the blue table tag tab to appear, then click the 3-bar menu in that tab to activate table mode), switching to Code View, or discontinuing the use of tables for layout purposes.

    The 3rd one is probably the best when designing for today's internet. Tables are not typically an easy thing to work with for mobile to giant flat screen to refrigerator responsiveness. The internet is on everything now, using layout methods like Flex and/or Grid are far better for all the many ways your site is accessed now.

    I had the following table in an HTML file with 1270 lines.

        <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" cols="1" width="100%" bgcolor="#c0c0c0" >
          <tr>
            <td><center>
              <font face="Arial, Helvetica" color="#000000"> build.gradle</font>
            </center></td>
          </tr>
        </table>

     I deleted it and the annoying tool tip is gone! Wow!
