Question

Any actual Adobe representation here?

I've been a very long time user of DW, and now have v18.2.  It's far from perfect, but still an adequate tool.  I don't use any of the server behaviors, libraries, or designers, I just code html, css, php, javascript, and ColdFusion and for the most part enjoy the interface and flexibility DW provides.  I tried a couple other editors like Sublime Text and a couple others, but I came back to DW because it was familiar and comfortable.  It seems version 2017 is went it mostly went wrong.  You could tell that non-developers were making "enhancements" to the program in isolation of actual user input and/or needs.

This forum and the bug reporting site is flooded with outcries of users wanting changes to happen, but it seems Adobe has put the DW program on autopilot and are neglecting their user community.  I realize too that these sites are also flooded with gripes about issues that have nothing to do with DW, but are questions about typical web development issues (html, css, javascript, etc), which would be better posted on stackexchange or similar.

My question is simple:  Is anyone at Adobe listening?  Are they engaged here or the bug reporting site?  Anyone have actual constructive ideas or advice to contact Adobe corporate and ask for a voice?

This is not a call for Adobe bashing, political commentaries, insults, or personal agendas - please take those elsewhere.

BTW, you can tell that they're not too involved here by the forum categories there are, the latest section for DW core issues is "Dreamweaver CC 2014".

and this is not recent... I remember, in the past, Paula's positions on taking into account essential improvements that received the same attention... that is... radio silence..... to the point that Paula preferred to devote herself to this forum by helping as best she can

It was the only option left to me Birnou, continuing to support the direction Dw development was taking, was I thought hypocritical.

When a program that advertises itself as - 'web design/development program' does not support W3C specs, (especially when they have become recommendations by the W3C) I think it should no longer do so or tell users that it supports modern web specifications, when it does not.

I know many other programs do not support many of the W3C specs, but they in the main are advertising themselves as code editors, (a completely different usage).

Yes, I remember it as well as the various exchanges that we had on this subject as much on the forum as in off.

Simple answer NO, this is primarily a user to user support site, with some Adobe support. Preran is the community support rep from Adobe, and a few Dw support team members answering problems regarding Dw itself when they can.

Naturally no one can, (user to user) or is allowed (any Adobe personel) to comment about Adobes commitment to Dw, or the problems/direction users have with Dw beyond passing the information on (if possible).

As far as I know, the only way to contact Adobe is the user voice, bug reports, or simply voicing what you think here. None of which will get you an official reply from Adobe or the Dw managment. It does help though when in the user voice, to supply more info when asked.

If it is better support for CF, then your best advice would be to write it yourself for the Brackets code editor, because  if it is included in the Brackets code editor, it will automatically be included in the supported languages of Dw, (Dw uses a version of the Brackets code editor).

As for everything else, just read the replys from @Birnou about even CAB and pre-release members being ignored.
