Best Dreamweaver version WAS Dreamweaver 2015

Meine Erfahrung ist ähnlich, sie betrifft allerdings mehrheitlich die "includes".

Um die in den neueren Versionen sichtbar zu machen bedarf es ständiger Hin- und Herschalterei in den Voreinstellungen und - außerdem - auch noch für jede Datei extra. Eine Änderung ist nicht in Sicht.

Adobe engineers rebuilt Dreamweaver from top to bottom.  There's nothing left of the original Dreamweaver UI or code engine.   As Jon said, if your operating system supports older versions, revert to 2015.

NOTE:  Catalina cannot support pre-2019 versions of Dreamweaver.

Honestly, with all the problems created by the Brackets integration that they've been trying to fix for the last handful of versions, I just use CC 2015.

I just checked on Prodesigntools.com and the link to the CC 2015 installer is still available there. Just make sure to follow the "Very Important Instructions" and you'll be able to download the installer.exe file from Adobe's website. It happily lives on several of my computers along side the "latest and greatest".
