Question

Bring back the old shortcuts for snippets

It was really useful to have wrapping snippets and to be able to call them with a shortcut. With new trigger function, this can't work, and the ability to customize shortcuts for snippets was really useful.

I think as it is something that can be customized on user's will, there's no need to remove them from DW and they could come back.

Hope you consider this!

It was too great to be able to highlight "form", hit ctrl+shift+d, and have it wrapped in a cfdump.  Or cfqueryparam.  I actually had to use Notepad++ for this recently to add a lot of cfqueryparams to a page.  Massive step backwards, Dreamweaver.

Its a pain in the a** - this is a big step backwards.

    Voted for this.

In my opinion, the new keyword function is more flexible and it doesn't take away the shortcuts that are defaulted to other options. Right now, you can set your Snippet keywords to whatever you want, for example a 1 or 2 letter "keyword" then hit tab. For me, this is better than Ctrl +Alt + Shift + random letter, and I can set a lot more shortcuts without taking away from somewhere else.

The loss of the ability to make wrapping Snippets has got to be an accident. Since old wrapping snippets still work, my guess (hope) is the ability to create them comes back in the first dot release.

I'm giving an up vote for that. The keywords thing is a different, and in my opinion, better way than the old shortcuts. So a down vote there.

but if you select a text and want to trigger a snippet to wrap, new keyword functions are not useful because you'd overwrite the text, then you can only trigger a snippet bly clicking on it on the snippets panel. That's why I think that old shortcuts are needed to trigger wrapping snippets. Don't you agree now Jon?

Yeah, that's a major limitation, hadn't used a wrapping snippet with the new keyword thing.

If that's why they took out wrapping snippets, I'd say dump the keywords thing and go back, for sure.
