Building a website - beginners level

Hello

Can anyone advise me on some sort of guide for 'how to build a website from start to finish' for beginners.  I have not used Dreamweaver for years.  I was hoping to find something that was text rather than video and preferable free, although that might be a bit of a big ask.  I was also looking for something fairly recent.  Any advice appreciated

My advice is to get up to speed on HTML5 & CSS3 code first.   DW is much easier to use when you understand modern code.  Read chapters, do code exercises, take quizzes at the end.

When you can build a basic web page with code, the next step is to learn all you can about Responsive Web Design for desktops, tablets and phones.

Paul Traini has a great course at LinkedIn Learning/Lynda.com that is about 2.5 hours long. It is called "Build Your First Website with Dreamweaver CC" The current version is for Dreamweaver CC (2105) but should cover the basics for what you would need to know.
