can Dreamweaver produce WebHelp?

scenario: a product relying on WebHelp currently produced from DITA-compliant .xml. DITA-savvy technical communicator close to retirement, no successor foreseen

question: can we take the latest WebHelp, cut DITA out of the loop and use Dreamweaver to maintain the html content? Around 260 separate topics, lots of cross-references …

    @Ben107584 – thanks for confirming my suspicions ;-}

    @436298 – an interesting response! in fact, FrameMaker has been my main documentation tool for quite a while; WebHelp was a successful experiment in making information available within the software product rather than outside in a less manageable paper document. I have made repeated experiments with FM as a DITA environment, and just can't get on with it: the way I think about structured information (ever since exposure to BookMaster at an impressionable age) doesn't match the way FM wants me to work.

    I think Adobe Frame Maker is the product you're looking for, not Dreamweaver.

    Likely no. Dreamweaver may be able to help you with templates within your platform, but it wouldn't replace your existing platform.  I suspect those topics are all stored in a database in that platform and if you wanted to leave you would be considering to migrate to another solution to meet your needs.
