Can't edit CSS due to auto corrections

When inserting cursor and trying to edit css text, DW deletes other text and operates more like a terminal than a text editor.  It is useless for correcting CSS .... anyway to turn off this "feature!"?

    Look to the bottom right of your document window.

    You should see a small "OVR" there.

    Click it and it should change to INS.

    You can also hit the INSERT key while your Code View has focus to toggle it back and forth.

    OVR = Overwrite

    INS = Insert

    No idea why it's in DW.
