Question

Can't get my Adobe creative suite 4 web premium to reinstall after a HD crash. Need help!

After moving over a number of years to three different cities, I could not find the product key for my copy of Adobe Creative Suite 4, Web Premium. Yesterday that was resolved and I have my product code back. However, when I try to install the package, first the install program asks which programs to install. When I then let it go further, it starts looking into the environment before actually installing. However, every time it finishes the check, consistently an error window comes up that says:

Critical errors were found in Setup.

Please see the Setup. log file for details.

I have a desktop .jpg file on this.

Setup log file?? Can't find such a file. Can't therefore find what the problem is. I have even gone into Uninstall or change a program to uninstall any programs I know are in the package (... without uninstalling other Adobe programs ....). It cleaned out some of them but refused to uninstall "Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Premium".

I have been through customer service 3 times and told to go to the forums. I would love to get the entire suite working but especially need Dreamweaver working to continue development of a website I have been developing for over 16 years (see woodsoftheworld.org. Reports over 15,200 different woods ).

The original installation was lost when the HD it was on went totally dead(!). P.S.- I have been a power user on personal computers since prior to Apple 1.

I am in Brockville area, Ontario Canada. Sure hope someone can solve this for me.

You can download the installer directly from here, and use your serial number to activate the product.

Download Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) products

When you ask a question you need to provide some basic information

    -Forum quick start https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-5601

Mac or Windows, and EXACTLY which version of the operating system?

Recent Mac AND Windows operating systems have been known to cause "odd" problems

Are you using a computer Administrator account with full read/write permission?

If you are trying to install on Mac El Capitan/Sierra or Windows 10 I don't think you will have success
