I have a site in dreamweaver cs5 ive been using for many years.

I created a new folder under the root directory, then tried to save as a page to that new sub dir

i got a pop up asking if i want to update links, i said yes of course

but the page is a mess. has no css formatting, all the nav is all over the place,

i thought when it said "update links" it meant just that

obviously not. Please tell me what i am doing wrong, what is the correct procedure for saving as a page to new sub dir??

What type of file did you try to Save As?

What you described might happen with a Dreamweaver Template (.dwt) which cannot be saved to any folder outside Templates.  But I can't see why that would happen in an ordinary .html file unless the file was already corrupted in some way.

If might help if we could see a before and after of the code.

I do not understand what you are trying to do. When you say "then tried to save as a page to that new sub dir", what did you try to save as a page?
