Question

CC design time style sheets

Hi all. I'm a veteran 20 years user of cs4 as I'm predominantly a coder.
I decided to try cc version and subscribed today but I'm finding it way too steep a relearning curve.
I've looked all over and just can't see a way to replicate the design time style sheets. Everything I write is modular so I need a rough idea of layout, rather than simply linking or importing a style sheet.
Am I missing something or has it been removed completely? Is there any way to see and edit the css elements like in previous versions?

thanks in advance

Project VII brought them back in a paid extension: https://www.projectseven.com/products/tools/DW-tools/DW-tools-1/index.htm

I'm not 100% sure if it works in the latest version of DW, but they can answer that question for you on their site here.

Thanks so much for your help.
looks like I wasn't imagining the huge gap, it's been removed for some reason.
that extension looks promising. I'll take a proper look tomorrow.
Once again, thanks for your reply.

Adobe saw fit to remove design-time stylesheets quite awhile ago.  Don't ask why 😞

CS4 is 13 years out of date. You have some catching up to do.

On rare occasions, I disable CSS style rendering if it poses problems for me.

View > Design View Options > Style Rendering > untick Display Styles.

Disabling in Design view has no effect on Live view, Real-Time Preview or old fashioned Preview in Browser.

When working with CSS or HTML, I prefer DW's code hinting and auto-code completion features.  So I never use the clumsy CSS Designer panels.  But some people actually prefer them.  You decide which works best for you.
