CC Latest Release(s) Very Buggy! WHY?

Hi All/Developers,

Why has Adobe Dreamweaver gone to S#%T lately?

Really since the 2017 release (around when quick editing of related CSS files was released), many previously
perfectly working components began to "bug out".

I had hoped in the latest 2018 release these were all fixed, but nope, even more buggy than normal.

Am I the only one? And if not, why does Adobe not care for Dreamweaver anymore?

I can list the range of bugs as I come back across them if anyone likes, they're so damn annoying.

    10. When editing code via the Code View, often the file I was just working on (test-page.php) overwrites the content of the next file tab I click on. Ie I am working on test-page.php, save the file, click on "gallery.php" in the top bar where it shows the list of open files, but now my "gallery.php" file contains the content of test-page.php,

    8. Just now, while moving a few selected files/folders into a sub folder via the "Files" window on the Remote Server. I was first prompted with an error message of sorts (sorry I clicked quickly through this and did not note/screenshot anything in this regard), which I think stated I wasn't connected to the internet or something along those lines (but I am connected), I pressed OK and then OK again to confirm the move of the files/folders. But, upon refresh of the Files display window (snapped to my right side of screen), the file list was all "scrambled" including weird file names, one of which was something like "@@@@-@@@@", but unfortunately I quickly said "Wtf" and pressed F5 to refresh, and all was well.

    9. [CRITICAL - Adobe Creative Cloud] There is a problem with "Core Sync (32)" causing my CPU Usage to spike extremely high, causing my motherboard and CPU temperatures to spike to 85-98*C.

This is a weird one, as at those times, the Creative Cloud application is not running (however Core Sync (32) is), and Windows Explorer process spikes to about 45% usage.

I have a 64 Bit OS. I wonder if this is an issue with running Creative Cloud 32 bit version?

I also wonder if this issue relates to Sophos Antivirus, or something along the lines of Sophos scanning Creative Cloud files at the same time Creative Cloud is trying to Sync, causing massive resource usage?

    Hey All,

Delayed reply as I hadn't been using Dreamweaver all week, until today!
(due to requirements at work, otherwise I would be using Dreamweaver)

From just 1 day of usage, this is my log/notes of what I have experienced.

Kinda frustrating when there's so many issues, when the software used to be perfect.

Ps. Not out here to simply be a sook, these things are legit annoying the crap out of me, and I love Dreamweaver. And if all this relates to my PC not meeting minimal system requirements, also tell me to bugger off.

    ---- Debug / Testing Notes ---

Note: My PC is an older laptop. Dell L702X (still got an i7 processor though), but it runs sluggish, so you may need a limited resources machine to test properly.

When developing I may have any or all of these open at the same time:

Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Netbeans IDE 8.2, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, SQLYog Ultimate, Google Chrome, Skype, Spotify, Teamviewer, Adobe Creative Cloud, One Drive, Google Drive

The interface/way I use Dreamweaver is purely the Code View, with line numbering, code colouring/hints/highlighting, the File explorer window to the right, and that's all. I don't use the more fancy Tools or code collapsing.

    1. Code Hints > Close Tags - The automatic closing of tags after typing </ had stopped working. However, the feature was began working after I 'viewed' the existing preferences (which were already configured) but I hit "Apply" anyway. And now the feature appears to be working again....

    2. Files Window (F8) - When a file is already highlighted, and you click the text of the file again (ie to edit he file name), but you click to another file prior to the highlighted file converting to an editable input box, the newly clicked file now becomes the editable file, rather then it being highlight as intended.

    3. Random timeouts of the application when saving files. Internet connection is stable and fast and normaly files save in a microsecond, but often the application goes into "not responding" where the whole application fades out to white and nothing is clickable for 20-40s on average.

3a. This also appears to happen when opening files, takes about 20s for the timeout to stop, then maybe another 10s before the code is shown.

    4. Working within a .css file, no idea why, but I'm currently unable to "Select All" or "Paste". I can manually select text with the mouse, but on right clicking to copy the selected text, the "Cut/Copy" options are not available for selection, paste is, however it doesn't paste what is in the clipboard (just plain text). Other files currently open, have no problem.

    5. Sometimes after transfering files to the web server, the "File activity complete" window is blocking me from using the main application window, and I can't get the "File activity complete" box to appear above of the main application layer, to click "Close".

5a. There is an additional issue where Dreamweaver asks me if I want to include dependant files when uploading, when I've already told it over 50 times "Do not show me again"!

    6. When editing code without Word Wrap enabled, and viewing code that spans a few pages across the screen hotizontally (ie horizontal scroll bar), I can drag the scroll bar all the way to the right, however there is still code further to the right that I'm not able to view as the scroll bar has maxed out. However I can manually use the keyboard arrows to go right to where I need to see the code.

    7. Having a slower PC, and since the latest 17/18 releases, the "Find in Current Document" (CTRL+F) does not work correctly:

-- Press CTRL+F (mostly instantly pops up the search window)

-- CTRL+V (to paste the clipboard value into the search field)

Issue: If there is any delay with the "Find in Current Document" appearing, and you've pressed CTRL+V prior to the window loading, it first pastes your value into your cursor location within the file you were editing, and then places the cursor in the "Search" input box, often leaving you unaware of the newly pasted value within your code.

If anyone needs any clarity on anything please let me know. I'm trying to provide as much as I am aware of.

I see the automatic closing tag also does not work in a .php file but works in my .html file.

Unsure how to edit the original post to add more details.

    Operating System:
    Edition: Windows 10 Pro
    Version: 1709
    OS Build: 16299.309

However I haven't changed anything in relation to the OS lately.

All the "bugs" started once i updated my Dreamweaver Version.

    Hey mate,

I will do, over the next week I'll take note of them as I encounter them. There are so many that I forget the exact ones, but I'l come back within a week with a full list of things. I've used Dreamweaver since Macromedia Dreamweaver 4, and would love to see it continue to flourish, but lately, it feels like the developers have lost the love for it.

Could you also give us the O/S of your machine because I think that Windows has fewer problems to iOS. I could be wrong.
