Changes to images not appearing on website

I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 - no matter what changes I make to images (eg. rotation or crop), once I "put" the page onto my website, it reverts back to what the image originally looked like. I have tried making changes in Dreamweaver (ie. crop feature), in Word (ie. rotate), in Paint (desperate times!) but nothing works. I've also tried cropping it externally and then putting the new image into the root folder but it still shows the full image once it's uploaded to the website, regardless of what it looks like in Dreamweaver!

Help!

I tried another browser with no success.

I then emptied the browser cache - but I've still got the same problem

    Any more suggestions?

Maybe you are uploading the new image format to the incorrect place on your server? if you have had no sucesss with the advice provided so far could you give  a link to the page in questions as we might be seeing something very different to you.

I can now report that the issue is resolved!

I did all the changes that I needed in Paint and saved it to my Local

Files. I then refreshed the files in Dreamweaver and transferred my local

file to the remote server. The remote server had the original image and by

transferring the file again with the same name, it looks like I've "forced"

the changes to be accepted by over writing it.

I'm not sure that I fully understand what I have done, but I'm just happy

    that it's working!

    Thanks for your help.

Any chance of getting a link to the site, this may help us track the problem down.

Sounds like you are experiencing a browser cache issue. Have you tried viewing in a different browser or emptying the borwsers cache?

What happens is the browser retains the image details in its memory so next time it loads it does it quicker rather than having to start from scratch. Browser caching has always been a pain in the butt for web developers.

Give one of the options a go and see if that helps.
