Clicking Picture in Design view

Hi,

When I click a picture in the design view side I would expect that picture to be selected and the relevant code to highlight in the Code side.

I'm sure that this is how it used to work before I had to re-install Windows an all my software.

Now when I click a picture in the design view it has a most annoying tendency to go elsewhere in design view and select an entirely different picture.

Is there any way that I can prevent this from happening.

Help with this annoying problem would be appreciated as its driving me round the bend

Thanks for the reply Nancy,

I am using split view.

My screen does not show:

body section div .container div .row ..........

However there does not appear to be any errors as any errors in code are highlighted in Yellow.

The problem seems to be when I have edited text in the code window then click an item in the design window, the item (Picture or Text) does not highlight, the cursor shoots of to a different image in the design view window.

I have tried deleting the image that it jumps to but it simply jumps to a different image at random.

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for sticking with me.

It is not a Web Site; it is listings for eBay (Don't Laugh).

I have nearly 1000 listing and each one has a separate page in Dreamweaver, I put a lot of effort into my listings.

My problem occurs on every one of the pages/files.

I am presently adding alt and titles to the 5000 of so pictures, but when I add one in code then click on the next picture in design view, the cursor jumps and selects something other than the picture or even text that I click (In the Design Window).

I tried removing the picture that gets jumped to but then it just jumps to another seemingly randomly.

Are you in DESIGN view or LIVE view?

At bottom of workspace, do you see a Green Check mark (no code errors) or a Red X (code errors)?

If your document contains code errors, look at the Output Panel (Shift+F6) for details.
