Client side editing.

One of the best things about Adobe Muse was that the client could make minor edits with in their website, without having to use WordPress, or another CMS. Does anyone know if that option still exist after building a site with Dreamweaver?

DMX Zone and WebAssist both make commercial Dreamweaver extensions that can help you  build a custom CMS to fit your client's needs.

Thanks for the input. I will look closer at design extender.

It is too bad Adobe didn't pull in some of these types of elements from muse. Muse would have been good for the site I may be designing, but it is what it is.

Thanks again. I am still open to other thoughts.

I briefly used Perch some years ago and thought it was pretty good to be honest and at 69 dollars per website you cant really go wrong and every client should be able to afford that. You can even trial it before you buy.

It was very easy to integrate into an existing website and if as you say all you want to do is allow for clients to make minor changes then its more than adequate.

I never really went as far as exploring all its potential but from the posts and threads I followed in their forum it appeared to be very versatile WITHOUT infringing on your own workflow, like a lot of CMSs require you do.

If ever I decided to stop writing my own bespoke CMSs I'd probably turn to Perch again and get deeper into what it can actually do.

The same company also produce 'Runway' another more advanced CMS. I have no idea if Perch is still being actively developed or if Runway is the key focus these days.

I believe you would need to incorporate something like Perch.
