Color of the ASP code

Hi everyone,

I just installed the latest version of Dreamweaver 20.1
I create many pages with mixed html + asp classic code.

The files are saved with the * .asp extension

I'm having a problem with the color of the code, ad. eg .:

  • the symbols <% and %> have a mixed color:
  • all the code has wrong color, it is not possible to distinguish the comments, etc.

What should I do to set it up correctly?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Emiliano

Classic ASP is an outdated technology that was superseded by ASP.net.   Visual Studio might be a better fit as DW is not ASP-friendly.  That said, finding any modern IDE that supports Classic ASP debugging might be too much to hope for.

    Hi Nancy,

    Thank you for your answer.

I am aware that ASP Classic is obsolete.

However this is a very complex site with many pages and strategic for our business

Porting to ASP.net or PHP would be a very expensive job that we have planned in the long run.

Previous versions of Dreamweaver (also 2015) show the color of the code correctly, so I think it is enough to change some settings here.

I really hope to find a solution.

    Thanks.
