Question

Connect to an Access database

I'm dating myself here, but back in the day - I could connect Dreamweaver to a local Access database using a connection string. I can't find any documentation about it, so I'm suspicious that's no longer a thing. Is that true? I want to do some simple localhost prototyping, and I'm failing!

Help, anyone?

Access is not suitable for the web.  Use a MySQL database instead.

Install an Apache web server on your local machine  -- Wamp, Xampp or Mamp.

All database functionality was removed from DW's interface something like 6 or7 versions back because they were outdated and Adobe had no interest in rewriting them.

They recently mentioned they would bring them back in an upcoming version, but shortly after the announcement, they said the new DB functions were on hold until other issues were resolved.
