RE: Dream Weaver CS#

Hello Adobe Team,

I’ve been using Adobe Dream Weaver CS3 for several years.  I think it is a good product and plan on
continuing to use it for web design.
However, my hard drive went down and after installing a new hard drive
and reinstalling Dream Weaver CS3 I found I needed to set my site up
again.  I used the same remote
connectivity settings exactly the way they were before:

Access: FTP

FTP Host: ftp.explorationgeology.com

Host Directory: /

While this always worked before it does not work now.  However, using the program FileZilla and the
same information listed above I CAN access the FTP site successfully.

Do you have any idea why Dream Weaver is refusing me access to the FTP
site when FileZilla shows that the Access, FTP Host and Host Directory are
correct?

Thank you

David

Most likely your Site Definition is corrupted.

Create a new one ensuring that you have the correct path to local site folder on current hard drive and the correct Root Directory on your remote server.

Also try toggling Passive FTP on/off.

NOTE:  Windows updates are constantly changing your computer.  Over time, your computer is nothing like it was when you brought it home.    However, your legacy software like CS3 remains the same.

    CS3 is 10 years old.

In contrast, when did your operating system come out?   And when did you receive its last update?

Hard drive went out 8 weeks ago.  Recovered files from hard drive and reinstalled Dreamweaver CS3 from original disk.  I use the same Windows 7 that came with the original computer and the same CS3 installation disk as was first installed.  Everything is the same but know Dreamweaver will not connect to FTP site.  However, I can connect to the FTP site using Filezilla software with the same info that does not work in Dreamweaver.

    Thank you for your help.

Mac or Windows, and EXACTLY which version of the operating system?

Recent Mac AND Windows operating systems have been known to cause "odd" problems

OP is Windows 7 Home Premium, service pack 1.  Dreamweaver CS3 had no problem before with same OS and login to FTP site but now does not work.
