I just got a brand new Mac Studio with M4 chip. I had Mac Studio with the M1 chip. Identical setup just a new computer.  Dreamweaver FTP worked fine on the M1 mac, now I'm getting Access Denied errors or password and user is incorrect.

Filezilla works fine.

Did you migrate over your apps by chance? Many users have experienced unexplainable issues if you used the migration assistant to move applications. If you did this, it is recommended that you try to uninstall/reinstall to see if that corrects the issue.

Yes I installed from Timemachine backup. everything else seems to be working correctly. I might just give the reinstall a shot.

Unlike FileZilla, Dreamweaver development is static. No new features are being added.

I can't tell you if DW is or isn't compatible with newer M4 chips.  I simply don't know.

Keep using FileZilla.  It's better, faster and regularly receives server security updates.  Dreamweaver is limping along on borrowed time.
