Question

Converting and enhancing html elearning into html5

We have about 400 elearning courses created with a old school html editor which we want to upgrade into engaging elearning courses, including embedding animations, video and more.

Is Dreamweaver the right tool for this?

Sample old school:

Newer (but not out ultimate goal) course in html 5:

We have moved to video learning but don't want to lose the value we built.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

perhaps that I'm wrong, but, I'm not sure to quite understand your question

As @Nancy OShea said Captivate is an appropriate tool for handling interactive animation coming from screen recorder, power point, quizz and so on... or build from scratch... but it is not an e-learning content management tool.

If you just need to create the content so far so good... but if you also need to deal with the LMS, you will have then to resort to Captivate Prime, which is a different tool... and as I remember one have to pay by registered student.

Whatever the point, you will have to make sure beforehand that the manifests are portable in order to guarantee the coherence of the standards (usually SCORM) that you will use between the interactive animation generator and the LMS platform itself.

Very often, this is the point of sand in the gears.

You should be using e-learning software like Captivate.

Captivate is not part of Creative Cloud.  It's a separate purchase.
