I don't think so.  Adobe Experience Manager is a DAM (digital assets manager) aimed at enterprises.  Different tools for vastly different budgets.

This to me looks like a response to their competition for the Experience Cloud which are Salesforce, Hubspot, and others that have come out with their own drag-and-drop capabilities over the years, not to mention solutions like unbounce and webflow.  If you have used some of the products they bought like Marketo, you would know editing capabilities can be about as good as a plain text editor or at best dreamweaver's design view. The biggest gap I still see from Adobe is a lack of workflow from the Creative Cloud to the Experience Cloud, where there is no clear path that one should work to make their designs, prototype them and eventually migrate that to the experience cloud.

l don't think experience manager is aimed at small customers who just want a website, but organisations with a dedicated team which can leverage what a website should really be about, an ongoing daily interaction with their customers.

I think we are moving into a more sophisticated era than previously but lm not sure that is going to be applicable to a lot of companies and yet a website which lays idle isn't really anything these days either.

Also as you say, how long will it be around before they sunset it l would be asking. These days l don't want to waste a single minute learning something without some guarantee it's not just a passing flavour of the month, which of course can't be guaranteed.

Serious players need to be learning something which gets them through a large chunk of their career, without having to endure this constant life long learning which seems to have become the norm in web development these days

hey ho good luck boys and girls.
