CS6 files to CC applications

Good day,

I am thinking of getting the student version of CC suite. I am in grad school and have a lot of work within Dreamweaver and other products in the suite that I will need to use. I have the Creative Suite 6 that was downloaded on a computer, but the computer is old and very slow. I wanted to see that if I did the CC version, will my files and projects that I created using Dreamweaver with the Creative Suite 6 be opened and used appropriately in the CC version?

Thank you for your time.

Sure.  HTML & CSS files can be edited in any code editor.  Same goes for .ai and .psd files in Illustrator & Photoshop.    Some things have been removed since CS6 came out and many new things have been added.  So you will need to get up to speed on what all has changed.  As an example, Spry and Fluid Grid Layouts were dropped from DW.
