CSS Read Only after update

Since updating to Dreamweaver 21.1, my CSS files are all showing as Read Only. Nothing has changed, nothing has moved. And they are definitely not read only. Ideas?

    Please update to 21.2 and report if the same issue occurs.

    There is a typo in my original post and I can't edit it. I'm running 21.2. This issue started when I upgraded to 21.2 and is still happening.

    Are you using check-in/check-out? Are they by chance locked because of that?  Also, read only can mean different things where it could be an issue with your user account/group/etc that you may need to repair disk permissions using the disk utility if there was an OS update along the way.

     

    Or, can you try re-creating the site cache or the site altogether to see what happens?

     

    If not, can you explain more about your site setup because right now all we have is a version and OS and not much about your workflow.

    Hi @saraht75385922,

     

    Thanks for writing to us. Can you please update to the latest Dw version 21.2 and let us know the behavior with the CSS files. As Nancy mentioned, we can try setting RW permission to the required CSS files via OS terminal command and see if the CSS files gets the required RW access in Dw.

     

    Please let us know if the issue is observed with Dw 21.2 as well, we can have a remote connect session at your convinient time for further investigation on the issue.

    Please re-read my original post. This started happening AFTER I UPGRADED TO 21.2.

    Use your operating system's file manager (Win File Explorer or Mac Finder).  Click the file properties and turn off the READ ONLY to make files Read & Writable. 

     

    If you need more help, tell us which operating system you're using.

    As I said, my CSS files are NOT read only. But Dreamweaver is showing them as Read Only in the CSS Designer. I have to open the CSS file separately as I cannot edit it through the CSS Designer. This only started after upgrading to 21.1.

     

    I'm on Mac OS 10.14.6.
