data retrieval search

Hello.  I'm working on a new site.  I'm wanting to do something similar to the search on this page https://ddpnetwork.org/professionals/find-a-practitioner-or-therapist

Do any of you have an idea of what I need to learn in order to do this?  I am thinking it must be a database. 

Don't mean to sound dumb, but I have never set this up on a site before.

    Unless you have exceptional coding knowledge and skills this is not something you're going to be able to do without the aid of a skilled operator or some kind of 3rd party assistant, a program/plugin - maybe Wordpress has some kind of multi-filtering plugin solution.

     

    Filtering data by one or two critera or specific critera is pretty simple but as the amount of critera/options/combinations becomes greater it becomes more complex.

    The programmer/developer will need access to a database of qualified healthcare providers (if that's what they plan to offer).

    Depends really......they could build their own database. Currently there's only 262 members listed worldwide on the website the OP provided the url for........so it seems rather bespoke, to say the least. 

     

    Dont really know what the OP is planning to do.

    If your site is not database driven, you have no data to query.  In such cases, you'll need a 3rd party search engine service.

     

    The most popular programmable search engine is offered by Google.  To use it, you'll need a Google account and a personal key.
