database connections

Hi

Have a mysql database to which I can connect using phpmyadmin and navicat however when I set up a connection in dreanweaver cs4 using the databases tab and select test I get the following error

Mysqlerror 2000

mysqlnd cannot connect to mysql4.1 using old authentication

I've contacted my hoster who telle me the mysql is version 5

any ideaqs anyone?
