Disable all visual aids

Using Dreamweaver CC 2017 and I'm trying to find a way to keep all visual aids disabled. I'm familiar with the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+I to disable all visual aids, but it only disables the visual aids for the page I'm viewing. If I open another page the visual aid for the <article></article> tags re-appear.

I've also gone into VIew>Design View Options>Visual Aids and have unchecked ALL of the visual aids option but the visual aid for the <article> tags can only be hidden by using the shortcut or choosing the option to hide all Visual Aids.

If anyone has ideas on how to disable the visual aids on the <article> tag permanently it would be appreciated.

Correct answer Mrhope

When trying to create a new HTML file to be used as an example, I realized that it was not a visual aid causing the box. It appears to be something to do with the CSS on the page since a new page with similar code and without CSS does not have the same box.

Thank you for your replies.

In CC2017.5, going to View > Design View Options > Visual Aids > CSS Layout Outlines to uncheck the option turns them off for me, and they stay turned off when I open other documents.

If you have the latest version, it may be worthwhile for you to clear the program cache, something may be slightly corrupt there causing DW to forget your settings.

Deleting a corrupted cache file

A complete restore of Preferences is a bit more drastic, but could fix issues clearing the cache doesn't.

Unusual behavior in Dreamweaver? Try restoring preferences.
