Question

Displaying images

Hello, I have a real begginer question. How do I get image files to display on a Dreamweaver site that I have saved? I know how to upload image files, but once I have uploaded the images and saved the site, if I shut down the computer and then reopen the site, the images do not display -- all that appears is a wireframe.

Thanks for your help!

Dreamweaver manages assets for you when

    a) your local site folder is defined on your primary hard drive -- C:\myTestSite\

    b) your assets reside in the site folder.  See screenshot of Files Panel (F8),

    c) you save the file (Ctrl+S) and view it your browser or Live View (Ctrl+Shift+F11).

    Hope that helps.

    Hello:

    Hello:

    Thanks for your help.

Yes, I defined a site, set up an images folder, etc.

But when I view the site in Real Time Preview, it displays properly. However, if I zip the site folder, email to myself, and open the index file, the images do not appear.

What's the difference between your two environments?
Are your pages in simple HTML or do they use a language like PHP? From your comment, it looks like direct HTML.
So, if it works on machine A, it should work on machine B.

Apart from DW, if you drag the index.html file directly onto a browser, are the images displayed? On both machine ?

Have you tried in live view and design view? Seems Dreamweaver does not know the local path of the file, as Lena say you may need to define the site and the correct path to project folder.

You will need to extract all of the files from the .zip archive before the linked images will appear.
