Question

Distorted images in design view

When in design view all images on a page look distorted (pixelated). When switching to Live view they look correct.. Zoom level is set to 100% so that's not the issue. This appears on every Web page I have. How can I fix the view so the images look normal? 2 images to showcase attached.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm, that looks like a sliced Photoshop file being placed into tables in DW.

Design View will sometimes have problems rendering large images that are being resized to much smaller proportions using html or css. Are your images optimized and resized for the web, or are they coming into the page at full print dpi from Photoshop?

That's not too surprising given that Design View is not a browser.  At best, it's an approximation of what you might see in some old browsers but it's not 100% accurate.   For best results, always test your projects in REAL browsers and mobile devices.

For better answers, we need to see your code, not screenshots.  The best way to do that is to post the URL to your online site.

You can see a sample of the code at

I understand that the Design View is not a browser and I'm not expecting it to render the page perfectly. But there is no reason why the images are all distorted and pixelated. I've been using DW for 15 years and much earlier version than the current one showd the images in Desgn view just fine. I think there is something else going on here. It looks as if the images are zomed in on whiloe they are not. The text is not distorted so it's not a zoom issue of the entire page, it's just the images as you can see in the attachments.

To be honest, I don't see much difference between your screenshots.

Have you given any thought to re-building this responsively with modern HTML5 & CSS code?

760px looks like a tiny postage stamp on modern 4-5K displays.
