Does Dreamweaver 2004 run on Windows 10? [Was: Question]

I have installed Dreamweaver 2004 on my Windows 10 computer, using GoDaddy as my server host.  This ran on my Windows 7 OS.  I have talked we GoDaddy and we established that there is no problem with the Computer on my side and their side in connecting.  When I click o the Test button For the Remote site it seems to work. When I go into Dreamweaver and Refresh and then press the connect to remote host button I get this error message:  The connection to the remote has been lost.  Click Refresh to reconnect.  I refresh but get the same error message.  Does Dreamweaver 2004 run on Windows 10?  Thank you in advance.

DW 2004 is very old and no longer supported.  You really should step up to more modern web authoring software.  A lot has changed  in 13+ years.

In the meantime, download a 3rd party FTP client like Filezilla. It's free.

    • If it works, you'll have the means for transferring files.
    • If it doesn't work, you'll know the problem is not Dreamweaver but something between your computer (OS, router, firewall, anti-virus, etc...) and the remote server.

win 10 wasn't made to be compatible with old software but if you successfully installed and are not encountering any errors when running the program, your problem is not an os incompatibility problem.
