Dreamweaver 2017.5 - Save all related files

Hi I need some help.

I created a new site, created an html and css page however when I try to save

my 'Save all Related Files is grayed out.

Is there something I need to change or set in the preferences ?

I refreshed my page, closed Dreamweaver and open it again, same thing.

    Correct answer Jon Fritz

    So I tested your answer.

I made added some changes to Bkg color and font style in the css sheet and saw that the file did did have the asterisk in the top of the document window, I still was not able to "save all related files', however when I went 'Save All' the asterisk disappeared.

So I am still concerned that even when I had something to save it still did not give me that option to 'save all the related files', actually i am confused.

It sounds to me as if you were working from the CSS file directly, and not through the Related Files bar at the top of the main document. Save All would be the correct option if you are opening the files and modifying them directly.

    Try this...

    1. Open the "parent" page first.
    2. Click on the .css file in the Related Files bar of that page
    3. Make a change to the css (without hitting Ctrl + S) check the Save All Related option

What file type(s) are you working with?
    (file extensions)

Have the files been saved to a Defined Site at some point already?
(not the first save for a given file)

Have there been unsaved changes to more than one file?
(a small * at the end of the file names in top bar of the document windows)

    Thanks for your response.

file types are .html, .css. .php

All the files have been  saved separately, save as and Save All to the site I defined and in the site folder.

no file has * there is no unsaved changes for an of the files.

The Save All Related Files option will only activate when there is something to save in one or more related file(s).

A change to your index.html page itself will not activate it, no matter how many related files are attached (the files listed in the top bar of the document window).

However an unsaved change to the attached .css file of the index.html page will turn it on. That css file will also be listed (until saved) in the Related Files Bar as thefile.css*. Once it is saved, the * disappears along with the ability to use Save All Related Files.
