Question

Dreamweaver 2021 trying to preview in Outlook on a Mac.

I am not an experienced user, doing simple static html to use in emails. When I use the preview item in the status bar bottom right, it works for browsers, but I really want to see how it will look in Outlook. When I try this, I get a message in Outlook that says "Unknown host in URL".  Don't know exactly what this means or what I can do to fix it. Help anyone

#1 Use the right tools for the job.  DW is a web site builder, not an email builder.  Email doesn't play by the same rules that web browsers do.

#2 Outlook is a third rate email client that doesn't understand modern web standards. You cannot expect Outlook to behave like real browsers and thus should not put too much effort into this unless you want to drive yourself crazy.   Nobody cares about Outlook except the few people who still use it. The majority of email is serviced by web-based email systems -- Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Apple Mail, Windows Mail, etc...  That's who you should cater to.

#3 For best results, use an industry tested email template that's designed to work well on the widest range of email clients.  You'll find good email templates and email builders on Litmus, Hubspot, MailChimp, Constant Contact and other bulk email sending sites.
