Dreamweaver 2023 update for when

All Creative Cloud applications have been updated to version 2023, however with DW this is not the case. What is the future of the program?

    Correct answer Jon Fritz

    DW is in a minimum development mode. The only plans Adobe has for it currently are OS compatibility updates, security patches and updates to third party bolt-on libraries.

    There are no new features or bug fixes on the horizon.

    All I can say is Adobe, please do the right thing and release Dreamweaver to the Open Source community. It will be well loved and cared for moving forward. At this point, I only still use it for two reasons, one is for the easy SFTP sync straight with one key-command, and the other is snippets. Otherwise, there are far better, faster and more stable options out there like VSCode. We all know it’s like an ugly step-child to Adobe and a drag on your resources. No one subscribes to your service just for GoLive, ahem, I mean Dreamweaver.

    @Jon Fritz  is right.

    The Dreamweaver team announced at the 2020 MAX Conference Round Table Discussion that DW has no future development.  It is minimally maintained with security & compatibility updates only.  It is what it is for the foreseeable future.

    Hope that answers your question.

    Hello, I think that is normal the confusion about this, since the adobe site dedicated to dreamweaver literally says:

    "Dreamweaver is always getting better. And with Creative Cloud, we roll out new features regularly. Here are some of the latest updates."

    And this is simply not true. Therefore it is logical and expected that there are people complaining that they are paying a subscription to receive nothing. In my opinion if adobe keeps dreamweaver for the minimum it should make it clear on the product page. The opposite is bordering on the concept of "misleading advertising".

    Regards!

    Yes, well spoken! Adobe should start to update DW again or make the prices lower for all users.

    But why is that? If you pay for all apps, you would like to have them upgraded as well. It has been issues with DW for several years with lagging. It’s pain to use it. I have old computer, Mac Pro 5.1 2012 with 3.46 GHz processor (six core) and 64 GB RAM. Should buy something new but then I have to change to Windows when Macs are insanely expensive.

    DW's latencies are not due to the performance of the machine... and by the way, your machine is so much more powerful than the machine I use which is 8 years old... not 9 years old... the latency concern, comes from a leak somewhere in the DW code.

    Since DW will no longer be updated (in a deep way), I'm afraid you'll have to deal with these latencies, new machine or not.

    Not every app gets updated in every cycle. Can't comment on future versions of an app.

    I think that your statement says it all.

    Dreamweaver has been diminishing as a professional tool ever since CS6 back in 2012.
