Question

Dreamweaver and GoDaddy

I recently had to change to GoDaddy and have had no luck uploading. Initially it was the maze of trying to find the correct credentials to get the ftp link to work. Sorted that out, but now when I upload the files (that worked the previous host service) it appears like a text file not a webpage. Has anyone else had this problem or did GoDaddy work fine once the FTP issue was resolved?

There's a lot of threads about DW and Godaddy FTP issues if you search for them. You may need to consider an alternative FTP client for uploading your files.

Did you correctly enter your server's Root Directory?

    What's the URL?

Unstyled content usually means you have not uploaded the supporting assets (CSS, JS, Images...) to your server.  Or perhaps the path to those assets is not correct.

Most GoDaddy shared hosting plans use Linux servers.  Linux is cAsE sEnSiTiVe.  So uppercase file names are not the same as lower case file names.

Usually what you describe is caused by a server that doesn't support a given file type.

What file extension are you working with on your pages?
