Dreamweaver cc 2015 sow performance

I'm running Dreamweaver cc 2015 on a 3.2 GHz, i5 Retina iMac with 16Gb ram running OS Sierra.

Dreamweaver's performance is terrible, launching the app often takes 2-3 mins, everything is non responsive for 1-2 mins when I open a file and there is a further 30 second'ish wait to close files.

I have searched the forums for possible answers but nothing has worked (code hinting is valuable so I do not want to switch off and changing the delay to 5 seconds changed nothing).

Are other users with the same/similar set-up experiencing the similar issues?

I did update to 2017 however there's a bug relating to html entities,

The latest patch  2017.1 took care of that..

I'm using CC 2017.1 right now with no problems.

Ideal, just upgraded to .1, on launch everything seems much better. I'll test over the coming days.

    Thanks

Suffice it to say, your computer isn't the fastest.  And the more processes you have running, the slower it's going to be at performing new ones.

    1. Turn off all non-essential processes, hibernation/Sleep-Mode, backup software, etc...
    2. Ensure your local site is on your primary hard drive, same as DW.
    3. Disable Caching in your local site settings.
    4. Also turn off automatic Sync in your Preferences.

While I realise my iMac is not the fastest, 3.2Ghz with 16Gb is very respectable. Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Illustrator all run considerably faster than Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver to a large extent is a colour coded text editor and ftp client, I would expect a machine of this spec to more than comfortably handle text files and file transfer.

I also have an old 2009 3.06 Ghz core 2 duo iMac running Dreamweaver CS3, it runs infinitely faster, this cannot be right.

Not sure what that means.  I have no problems with speed.  Maybe there is something different about your files or set-up that's causing problems.  Without more information it's anybody's guess what that might be, though.
