Dreamweaver cc 2017 live view, when I save the file, sometimes refreshes to code view.

After the update about a month ago, Live View refreshes to code view but all with black text.  I have to close the file and reopen to get the "real Live View" back.  I have tried it on a different computer and have the same problem.  Any suggestions?

Correct answer Nancy OShea

Does this happen with all sites and files or just certain ones?

Are you working with valid, error-free code?

Nancy, the error is on most of the pages that I have been working on during the last week. I read a post in the forum about errors in the page causing this problem.  I  do not have coding errors that cause the "red error on the line number" in Dreamweaver.

The page is very large (1,011 lines of code) and is a combination of HTML and PHP.

My next step is to run an online w3c to check if there are w3c errors.  The page is on line at this url. http://www.fishingcostarica.bookingcr.com

I'll post the results of the w3c check.  Let me know if you have any ideas. Also thought I would try it in Develop mode.

***** Ran the w3c check and had 15 errors......  Will fix them tomorrow and let you know.  Thanks.

I just opened up 3 PHP files and they all opened in Code View.

I switched each to Design View and closed the files.

I re-opened the files and they all opened in Design View.

So for me, DW CC 2017 on Win10, is remembering the last View I used.

I rarely have need for Design or Live View with PHP files.  I'm almost always looking at the code.   So if it reverts to code view on page refresh, I probably would not notice.
