Question

Dreamweaver CC 2019 closes after opening

I read this thread and tried the DISM restorehealth command in admin mode of command prompt.

New Windows 10 computer. New installation of Creative Cloud Application. Photoshop opens fine.

Might be related: I was getting a "MSVCR110.dll is not designed for windows" (oddly it wasn't the "x is missing" error) but I got the 2012 c++ redistributable package and that fixed that part.

Now it is immediately closing after it appears to completely launch. You can even hover over the menus and the light up for a split second before it closes. There are no error messages.

I have uploaded the log via the "adobe log collector tool" if that helps. The file is here.

Thanks for any help!

Why was a correct answer chosen by @prerank28948274? This issue remains unresolved.

I downgraded to 19.0 and now it works, but I don't consider downgrading a solution.

It probably was the solution. What it did was to create a proper environment for Dreamweaver, something that your previous action of re-installing Windows had damaged.

You will find that when you now upgrade it will also work as it should.

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!

Update 2: Figured out it's not the windows service, it's the presence of Internet at all that makes DW crash. I've tried:

1) Disabling Syncing in Creative Cloud App

2) Resetting prefs/settings via the Win + Ctrl + Shift double click on Dreamweaver.exe

3) Turning off and on Windows Firewall (I have no other antivirus programs)

I apologize for marking an answer as correct. I probably did that because I felt it closest to most of the solutions that have helped other users. Let us know if Ben's suggestion helped. If it did not, please get in touch with Adobe Support using this link Contact us Use the chat button to get started.

Update: After disabling windows services (via run > msconfig) in chunks and restarting, I narrowed it down to the service "Windows Connection Manager". If that is disabled, DW opens fine. If it's enabled, the silent crash happens.

Problem is, with Windows Connection Manager disabled, I have no Internet. Help?

Which version of Windows do you have?

Have you tried right-click, run as administrator?

Windows 10. Tried run as admin, same problem. I also tried deleting the WinFileCache, but there doesn't seem to be one in the config folder (appdata/roaming/adobe/Dreamweaver CC/en_us/configuration) and I do have hidden files turned on.

Also, booting into safe mode, DW opens fine, and creates a win cache file. I don't have any antivirus running.

Sounds like a read/write permissions problem.

Try creating a new Windows admin level user account.
