Dreamweaver CC is missing mfc120du.dll

I bought a new PC to run Windows 10 and then subscribed to CC.  Imagine my disappointment when after installing Dreamweaver CC I was unable to run this due to a missing dll file.

So far Acrobat and Premiere Pro are working fine.

Is there a simple solution to this problem.

Correct answer Jon Fritz

That is actually a Microsoft C++ error (an OS problem) that you're being alerted to. It will end up being an issue for any program you install that was built with MS Visual Studio.

Reinstalling the C++ Redistributable usually fixes the issue.

Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from Official Microsoft Download Center

Have just had an exceptional and excellent "chat" with Customer Care Naveen and the issue is resolved.  It appeared that the dll file was missing from the System 32 folder.  Full marks to Adobe Customer Care.

Did this require a reboot? I get a new error if I just paste it in there. This is for mfc140u.dll. Cannot reinstall, as you indicated, a "newer" version on system, Have uninstalled, reinstalled (3x) both Dreamweaver and CC. Only having this issue with Dreamweaver. Have been on hold for customer support for a long time, so will probably give up and try again tomorrow. Very disappointed. This is the first time I've had an issue with an Adobe product, but now it is affecting my work, and has taken the bulk of my day to research, only to find all "fixes" not resolving, as you found.

Hi,

Did you try downloading the latest version of Dreamweaver (18.0), first uninstall Dreamweaver by clearing preferences and then install Latest Dreamweaver, relaunch it.Please let us know if it resolves.

Thanks

Hi, Jon,

Ran the Upload3 from your new link, then installed DW again.  Still no joy.  Ran sfc as administrator and was given an error message that windows couldn't start the repair service.

Now going to chat/speak with Adobe NZ if I can get through.

Sorry, too early in the morning...the missing file is mfc120u.dll.

Downloading Visual C++ didn't fix the problem as the system reported that a newer version of the software was running.

I had an old link, this is the newest version of the C++ Redistributable from Microsoft according to their site...

Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 from Official Microsoft Download Center

(Update 3 FROM 9/15/16)

My apologies to the forum, the missing file is mfc120du.dll and it takes 3 (three) clicks of the error message before that message cancels itself.  I have, as suggested by the APP, uninstalled and re-installed Dreamweaver.

How about mentioning WHICH file is missing?

re-install C runtime may help https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=48145
