Question

Dreamweaver Co-edit functionality (like Adobe XD)

After using Adobe XD to mock up a new website design, I've found that my favourite function was the ability to collaborate so easily and co-edit documents in real-time with your colleagues and team members.

Now the team and I are moving on to the development stage, we are looking at using Dreamweaver. Unfortunately, this piece of software does not have the functionality to be able to co-edit and collaborate in real time. Imagine how great it would be to build a website from the ground up whilst collaborating with your colleagues.

I think that this feature would provide a massive win for the software and could help other teams, like ours, collaborate much easier when using Dreamweaver for web development.

Dreamweaver supports Check-in/Check-out files feature.  You borrow files from remote server to work on them (check-out) and nobody can access the files until you return them (check-in).

Optionally, you and your team can use Dreamweaver with Git integration (versioning control).

Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, Dreameaver is not in active development anymore. No new features or updates, aside from OS compatibility, security patches, and third party libraries, are planned for the program.

Unless something drastic changes at Adobe, DW is zombie software. Not dead, not living, showing its age with each turn of the calendar, sorta falling apart as it shambles along...

Thanks for clearing that up Jon. Are there any alternatives to collaborative and co-editing web development software?

Sorry, I've never looked into that kind of workflow.
