dreamweaver CS4 FTP ignore svn files

Is there a way to do this? It will cloak the folders so they can't be seen in the file browser but if you upload directories it includes all the SVN files. This adds significant overhead to the upload/download speed. When I say ignore I mean completely ignore all SVN files as if they weren't there at all.
