Dreamweaver CS5.5 - Activation Limit Reached

I have used Dreamweaver CS5.5 very sparingly, only enough to generate <html> coding for webpage structure; however I purchased this software many years ago and now I am unable to activate it because it returns activation attempts with the message "Activation limit reached for Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5"

I re-installed an old SSD on my older laptop and opened a valid version of Dreamweaver CS5.5 and followed the steps to deactivate that copy.  I received the message that deactivation was successful, so I thought that I had succeeded and met the criteria for activation on a new device.  However, I still get the error message when attempting to activate Dreamweaver CS5.5 on a newer laptop.

Who can I reach out to for help.  I cannot go to customer support because I do not have any active subscriptions. There must be a way to reconcile this. There is no option in my Adobe account to help me see older activations and delete them from my account.

Online deactivation is only possible for supported Creative Cloud desktop apps.  It won't help you with legacy Creative Suite products.

CS5 is obsolete ware from 2010. The aged-out activation servers are not fully functioning anymore.  See links below.

That said, even if you succeed in activating your license, legacy software is unlikely to run as expected on a modern computer & OS.  The tech in CS5 is too old.

Best option, use a modern code editor.  If not Dreamweaver CC 2021, then something else.

-- Adobe Dreamweaver CC - https://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver.html
-- Codespaces (free, browser-based) - https://github.com/features/codespaces
-- Notepad++ (free) - https://notepad-plus-plus.org/
-- Nova (Mac only, formerly called Coda) - https://nova.app/
-- Pinegrow - https://pinegrow.com/
-- Sublime Text - http://www.sublimetext.com/
-- Visual Studio Code (free) - https://code.visualstudio.com/
-- Wappler ~ Visual Web App Builder - https://wappler.io/

Hope that helps.
