Question

Dreamweaver cs6 has stopped working

I have DW cs6 installed on my PC and today it stopped working.

Can I download cs6 now?

I still have the CS3 discs and the last CS3 Serial number.

CS6 was a download  install so discs were not issued.

I cannot afford the new prices.

Many thanks for any help.

John

Thanks Jon

I think it has been as you stated so I have attached a picture to confirm this.

Did I miss something?

Thanks

John

You can change the Windows app associated with PHP files by right clicking on a file in Win File Explorer and selecting Properties.

"It stopped working" doesn't tell us much.  What is the CS6 error message?

CS1, CS2, CS3 and CS4 activation servers are dead & gone.

CS5 and CS6 are on life support. But they can still be activated providing you have the following:
1. your original media (disks or downloads) you received at purchase and a way to read them,
2. a legitimate serial number for that version, language and platform (Win/Mac) and if it was an upgrade, a qualifying serial number from an older product,
3. an older operating system that can support legacy 32-bit apps.

NOTE 1 : Creative Suite installers won't work on macOS Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave without terminal workarounds. See the help article below.
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/install-creative-suite-mac-os-sierra.html

NOTE 2: Legacy Creative Suite will never run on Catalina, Big Sur or Monterey.  Nor will it be tested on Win11.  Only the latest Creative Cloud products are compatible with newer operating systems.

NOTE 3: Legacy Creative Suite is obsolete, discontinued & unsupported. Use at your own risk.

Thank you very much for the help Nancy and the information re Windows11.
My PC is using windows10
I have Dreamweaver cs6. The program came on a download from Adobe so I have no disc but I have the serial number that was given to me at the installation and the previous serial number.

When I try to open Dreamweaver the opening window opens but goes no further after about 3.39%

I have tried cmd sfc/scannow.
When I try to download on url https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/all/desktop?action=install&source=apps&productId=creative-cloud (the install page)

I get a message Creative Cloud Installation failed
We were not able to install the app Error Code 1

Regards
John

Well I seem to have some good news.

Ray Borduin at Webassist suggested I change the User configuration file name.

I changed Configuration to Configuration2 and Dreamweaver opened.

I could hardly believe my eyes!

Just thought this may be useful for the future.

Thanks for all the help.

Where did you buy it from?  If you bought it from Adobe, it may still be accessible from within your online account if you go to Plans --> Products.  If you bought it from a 3rd party you can go back to them and see if they can help.

If not and you just need a free code editor you can go with something like Visual Studio Code ( https://code.visualstudio.com ).
