Dreamweaver CS6 Install Options

Hi,

I have several simple web sites I maintain.   I purchased and downloaded Dreamweaver 6 from Amazon in August 2012.  Last November I purchased a new computer and have switched my activity over.  I currently have a requirement to update one of the web sites I maintain.

I cannot find the old install file I downloaded from Amazon.

I checked the Adobe web site and they want $20 per month to use Dreamweaver.  (I currently  subscribe to the Photography Creative Cloud plan.)

I was perfectly content with my old DW 6 version.   Is there anywhere I can obtain a copy of DW 6?   What other options do I have?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm afraid not.  Adobe discontinued all sales of Creative Suite in 2017.  You cannot legally purchase CS6 from any vendor, retailer or country anymore.   And don't let yourself be scammed by pirates selling fake software on eBay as this person did.

The risks are not worth it.

Adobe Brackets is a free code editor.  It doesn't have Design View or DW's file management but it understands modern code.  And you can preview your work in Chrome browser.

Thanks for the feedback.

I guess I will have to search for a simple html editor that supports a Design View type interface.  Any suggestions?

It appears that Brackets requires writing in html and then viewing in a browser.

I enjoyed the simple editing Design View allowed plus the ability to push the updated file to my hosting service.

The only other option is to keep my old computer with Dreamweaver 6 around for the occasional edit.  Seems like a hassle.

Or you could rebuild sites online with WordPress, Wix, Webflow or some other DIY web builder that has it's own content management system.  All you need is a decent web browser with Internet service.  No stand alone software required.
