Question

DreamWeaver does not upload all files anymore

When it comes time to upload new content to the remote server DreamWeaver has stopped uploading all the files.  I can upload PDF's and pages for example, but cannot upload optimized graphics like simple jpgs. I know this because there are error messages after the upload process and I can view the remote server.  I've tried uploading the graphics separately from uploading a whole page. I've tried synchronizing.

Here is the error message

File Transfer failed due to following reasons: - Internal data error, possibly because of failure to start the upload. - An unknown error occurred.

Do the images go in the same folder as the other files that are loading? Do you have the rights to these folders?

Next time you go to make a transfer can you click on Site --> Advanced --> FTP Log and let us know the exact FTP error number you are getting?  That will tell us much more than the DW message.

Are images optimized for the web and saved as web graphics -- JPG, PNG or SVG?

Can you upload the same graphics with a dedicated S/FTP client like Filezilla?

It's not difficult.  Similar to Dreamweaver's expanded Files Panel.  Your local computer files appear on one side of the screen and your remote server's files on the other.  If DW can't upload files, maybe there's a problem with the server.  But you won't know until you test with another FTP client.
